POSITION OVERVIEW

The Custodian/Housekeeper will primarily be responsible for cleaning and maintaining cleanliness of our facilities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS

Ensure cleanliness of HOC Resident Facilities

  • Routinely cleans assigned facility area according to facility procedures
  • Ensures sleeping rooms are prepared for new tenancy within specified time lines.

Maintain Adequate Supply of Linen for Residents

  • Routinely washes and stores linens according to procedures.

Maintain Equipment

  • Performs or ensures routine maintenance is done on equipment
  • Informs Supervisor of inventory levels.

Documentation

  • Writes up maintenance request forms
  • Informs House Manager of concerns regarding client/s.

  • Ability to work respectfully with clients, coworkers, and key stakeholders who are diverse with respect to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and religion.
  • Ability to establish rapport quickly with people experiencing a crisis through use of trauma informed care, client centered care, and strengths-based approaches.
  • Ability to meet expectations regarding paperwork and documentation through organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently and accurately, competency and comfort using technology and computers.

Experience that gives applicants the required skills, abilities, and perspectives listed above are commonly gained through one or more of the following:

  • Personal experience with homelessness;
  • Experience working, interning, or volunteering with people experiencing homelessness;

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Knowledge of health and safety standards and maintaining those standards.

Knowledge of the proper use of basic cleaning equipment including institutional laundry equipment.

Current Mantoux test. (Annual requirement thereafter)

Must possess good verbal skills and present in a positive professional image.

Must pass MN Department of Human Services netstudy background screening.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to lift at least 40lbs individually (50+lbs w/ teamlift)
